A local of Kalamata, Matoula has studied Business Administration at the Open University and worked for a major Greek food company, a leader in the Greek market with a strong export presence, before turning into the olive oil production. 

Matoula broadened her education with a number of seminars and today is a member of the organoleptic evaluation panel of the University of Kalamata and a qualified olive oil expert.

Having completed an impressive line of studies, namely in Mechanical Engineering (Msc NTUA), Business Administration (MBA Bocconi University) and Finance (PhD from AUEB) and even taught finance at the University of Utrecht and worked as an advisor for the Greek government, Valia made a career change and followed her true calling: she obtained yet another Master’s degree in Personalized Nutrition and further received clinical training in Nutritional Therapy. 
A strong advocate of olive oil and its health benefits, Valia is the scientific voice of Alpha to Omega.
